Why does my PC say it can not use IR port or PC can not find watch with a serial IR adaptor? I have recieved quite a few emails from people asking how I got my WQV-3 to upload photos as their PC could not see the watch. This may not work for you but this is what I had to do. (I have Windows 2000) I had to do a little "tweaking" to get my WQV-3 to work as at first when I installed the WQV Link software it seemed intent on thinking it was a USB device and would not download any photos at all. I installed the "ESI-9680 JetEye Serial Infrared Device" (this is a Windows driver found in Windows to so may not need the CD?) that then fixed the problem. Heres how to do it in Windows 2000 (May work for Windows XP as well): Go to START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL and double click on the System icon. Click on HARDWARE tab and then HARDWARE WIZARD Click NEXT Choose “ADD / TROUBLE SHOOT A DEVICE click NEXT Machine then finds list Highlight ADD A NEW DEVICE (at top of list) Click NEXT Choose “NO I WANT TO SELECT THE HARDWARE FROM A LIST” Click NEXT Choose INFRARED DEVICES Click NEXT Choose EXTENDED SYSTEMS (on right hand side) then select ESI 9680 JET EYE SERIAL INFRARED DEVICE (on left hand side) Click NEXT - NEXT Choose the Com port your wtach is on COM1 or COM2 Click NEXT - FINISH - OK You will then need to go back to the control panel; (Go to START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL) and double click on the WIRELESS LINK icon. Select IMAGE TRANSFER tab. Uncheck the box next to “USE WIRELESS LINK TO TRANSFER IMAGES FROM A DIGITAL CAMERA TO YOUR COMPUTER”. Click APPLY - OK Now go back to the WQV software, prepare the watch readt for transfer and click on the SAVE ALL button. |
